Ferry Connections: All transfers to and from Montezuma, Mal Pais, and Santa Teresa include transportation costs on the ferry. Upon arrival at the port of Puntarenas or Paquera, passengers will be met by a minibus from Montezuma Expeditions that will take them to their final destination.

Share and Private Transfers

For transportation on regular daily routes, passengers will be required to carry their belongings during the ferry trip to or from Puntarenas (Montezuma Expeditions drivers will help passengers carry their luggage).

The private ferry service does not require passengers to remove the baggage from the van and to travel there for the entire trip, including the ferry.
Note: Please contact Montezuma Expeditions for information on the minimum number of passengers required for flights on certain daily routes, including Monteverde, La Fortuna / Arenal, Jaco, and other destinations on the Central Pacific Coast. The ferry schedules vary periodically, please confirm the schedule of your trip with our staff before your departure.
